popular course of recitals at the South
Norwaik Congregational Church. What
makes him so desirable as an enter—
tainer in his mastery of the art of ca.
preasion. his well modulated voice. art-
istic manner and intelligence at inter-
pretation. in December he was heard
in “The Christmas Carol." and nuclei
conditions that were not most tavern-
able; next Tuesday he will be heard at
the South Norwalk Congregational
Church. in Shakespeare's "Merchant of ‘
Venice." the great comedy which is
part tragedy. This is one of Mr. lin-
derhlll‘s best performances. -
THE OLD HOMESTEAD.

Denman Thompson himself. in his in-
imitable assumption of “Joshua Whit-
comb,’ so that on its forthcoming ap-

long that it is almost second nature to
