Painter Junius Brown has been en-
gaged the past few days in cutting
down and disintegrating a monstrous
apple tree on his property in Elmgrove
street. The tree is undoubtedly the
father of all apple tree. in this sec-
tion, and the trunk measured three feet
in diameter. Mr. Brown estimates that
the tree is one hundred “years old. it
has borne every year for the past fifty
yours, but on account of its age the
fruit had deterio ed very much. and
Mr. Brown final decided to cut it
