The new law relating to the form of

attention. i sent to all the physicians

so far as I have been able to examine
the records of vital statistics. i believe
the results are. more satisfactory than
they were under the old system.
Another regulation has been general-
ly adopted throughout tin1 county by
the town health officers, so recently
that it has not yet (October lstl re-
ceived the1 approval of the state board
of health. it requires the vaccination
of school children. Since It was auh- .
mitted to the state board 1 have, at!
the request of that body. caused In-1
quiry to be made. through the town '
health officers as to the pr-opo1tlon of
school children already vaccinated.
The results while as yet Incompletcl
are rather surprising in 110ml1 of the}
smaller towns. Bridgeport and Hunt-.
Ington are the only towns in the county
so far as l have learned where the
school boards have required a certlfl~
note of vaccination as they may under
ihe statute helorc admitting 11 child to
school. in these towns the proportion
of vaccinated children including the
cities of Danbury, Norwaik and South
Norwaik show that there were at the
time of the inquiry 10.988 children in
attendance. of whom only 5.Itl2. or a
