she saw the reflection of flames on a
window. She found that her house
was burning, with four children asleep
in the upper rooms. She rescued the
children, biit while her time was thus
taken up, the flames seized upon the
barn and they raged so quickly that
when 1111 alarm had been glv,en the
woman could do nothing more than
stand by and watch her property be
consumed.
Three. hundred dollars in cash in
the house were destroyed and 1111 cows
in the burn perished. Loss $7,000.
There is partial insurance. it is
thought that a lamp exploded and
