Dr. Walter Curry Had Been Visiting
. Friends In Branford.

Dr. Walter Curry. for twenty years a
practiaing physician in New York city,
died today of acute pleuiisy, while vis-
iting friends at (‘11 stle Rock , In this
town. Dr. Garry was a biothcr of Dr.
J. L. M Curry, who was sent by Pres-
ident Roosevelt. as special envoy to
Spain. to represent this country at the
coming of age of King Alfonso lie
was the attending physician of the late
Millionaire William Maiah Rice for
six months previous to the latter's
deathmnd was to have been a witness
, in the proceedings over ihc Rice estate.
Dr. Curry was born in Lincoln, GIL.
in 1835. He was educated at the Uni-
versity of Georgia, and Was graduated
in 1855, from the medical department
. .1 of the University of Pennsylvania. llc
served with distinction in the confed-
erate army» as a surgeon. under Gene»
rnl Joseph Johnson, during the Civil
war.

South block, when the wall collapsed
burying all five. Fifty men went to
work at once and cleared up the mass
of debris, extricating the laborers, but
when Burns was taken out he was
dead. The injured men were sent to
the hospital.
