locked in. but his wild efforts to free
himself necessitated ills being kept in
restraint. Yesterday morning he was
sent to jail for 30 days. charged with
drunkcncss.
,All unknown man was struck by a
trolley car at about 1 o'clock Sunday

known as Mllls' switch. lrving Mills
was the motorman and Thomas Ward
he conductor. When about. to take the
switch the fellow jumped out from the
bushes and stood directly in front of
the car. Before the motorman could
stop, the fender picked the luau up and
threw him into the roadway. The man
was picked up. placed upon the car
and brought to the. cur barn in West-
port. An examination proved that he

the nose. which constituted all his in-
juries. Upon being questioned he said
that he had not been hit. his mind
seeming to run on the line that he had
just been elected from a saloon. Some-
thing had to be done. and the. em-

in search of Sheriff Kemper, whom
they found at home. He advised tak-

went to the place he found that his
