ter Arthur (.7. Wheeler of Norwalk has
been sent out to the several lodges
throughout the state.
“i am in receipt of a communica-
tion from the secretary of the board of
managers of the Masonic Charity
Foundation of Connecticut, with invi-
lufion to all Masons and their families
and members of the Eastern Star to
assemble at the home on Thursday.
September 26, 1902 and hold a basket
picnic—«it being the seventh anniver-
sary of the dcdicatlon of the home. In
accordance with this invitation, which
meets my approval. it. is my wish that
this letter shall be read in open lodge
at the first communication after its
receipt, and it is also my earnest des-
ire that the invitation shall meet with
a hearty response from every lodge in
the state and with a good representa-
tion of the members and friends on the
day named. it Is hoped that there will
be exercises of a short but interesting

DECISION FOR DEFENDANT.
Finding of Judge Downs in Much
Tried Case of Nettleton vs. Curtis.
Judge N. C. Downs of Stamford, who
sat in the civil common pleas court
last spring and heard a few cases.

yesterday in the case of Henry Net~
tlcton against Joseph B. Curtis. of
Bridgeport. Judge Downs finds as
Judge Scott did before, in favor of the
defendant.
The plaintiff is administrator on the
estate of the late Harriet M. llcnrds—
lcy. Among her papers he found a

fused claiming that Mrs. Beardsley

This suit was instituted and tried
out the first. time before Judge Scott.
