Edgar w. Andrews Accuses Him ,of
Spanking Edgar, Jr.
Major E. Hill, Jr.. of Norwaik. was
before the Norwaik Town Court, this
morning, to answer to the. charge of
shaking and spanking Edgar W. An-
drews Jr. son of Edgar W Andrews.
of the firm of Andrews & Smith, the
woolen manufacturers. Major Hill
drove up to the court building in his
big Winton automobile to appear in
‘ person before Judge E. M. Loekwood.
It appears that on Tuesday that the
Andrews lad threw a stone at the Ma-
jcr while the latter was passing in
his automobile Mr. Hill stopped the
machine and caught the boy and ad-
ministered a good shaking up and
spanking. Mr. Andrea's became incen~
seed over the matter and made com-
plaint against Major Hill charging
him with an assault upon the lad. The
hearing lasted about a minute and was
adjourned at the request of Major Hill
for one week. owing to the fact that
his counsel. Attorney F. W. Perry, is

TO START A SHEEP RANCH.

North Cocoon.
William M. Painter, of North Cos-
cob is making preparations to convert
a portion of his farm there into a sheep
ranch, and stock it with about 250
sheep from his ranch at Pueblo Colo-
rado. Mr. Painter’s ranch in Colorado
is located on the Urafano river and is
stocked with 2.500 sheep. and a num-
ber of these he proposes to bring east
during the latter part of October and
enter into the sheep raising business
on an extensive scale Sixty acres of
his 160 acre farm at North Coscob he
will convert into this use and thische
proposes to enclose with an eight
foot wire fence. Mr. Painter believes
that sheep raising is more profitable
than farming. and there are several
other farmers in and about Long Ridge
who will follow his lead.
