Edward Finnegan, son of Michael
Finnegan, of Pine street. was shot in
the right leg just above the knee, last
evening, by a blank cartridge pistol in
the hands of a companion. The. lad

removed the. wad and powder from the
painful wound.
The lads in Norwaik began a lively
celebration of the Fourth of July, last
nrcnlng. in a noisy manner, and appar-
ently there is more racket being made
this year than before in several years.

and are using them to their fullest

A preparatory service to the \acra-
meat of the Lord's Supper was held
last evening. in the South Norwalk
Congregational Church. Rev. Charles

incetplon way back in the 60's down
to the present day. a

ieck, of Mcrwln street, Norwnlk, who
was at that time employed in'Danbury,
was sent to Norwnlk with four sewing
machines by the Wheeler & Wilson
Company. of Bridgeport. She alone
had charge of the machines for some
time. teaching the girls how to operate
them. and from this small beginning:

til now lt numbers its employees not
by the tone, but by the score, and is
one of the most useful adjuncts to
the manufacturing interests of Nor-
walk.
