Among the cases brought. to the. May
term'of the court of Common Pleas is
that of Sarah Weiss. of Bridgeport.
against Sidney E. Huwley, sheriff,
claiming damages of $200. Sarah Weiss
obtained a judgment of $50 and costs.
amounting to about $60 against Louis
J. Boottgcr last fall. and an execution
was issued October 29. 1901. Boettger
was thrown into jail and October 30.
upon furnishing a bond, he was allow-
ed the liberties of the jail. The pa-
per-s allege that January 15, 1902.
Bocttgcr was out of the jail limits
without a lawful discharge. For this
Mrs. Weiss asks damages from the
high sheriff.
Another case returned to the same
court is that of Antonio Pavia against
Leonard Lucia. of Bridgeport, asking
for damages of $300. Hc alleges that
he was stabbed by Lucia July 20 last
and has suffered that amount of dam
age by reason of it.
