having lost 4 the barges Hen ry Hughes
and Baxter of!" Penfiold reel. All on
board the ~ Baxter were lost and one
boy from the Henry Hughes also pcr‘
ished. The captain of the Henry

York on the Volunteer It is not

field Reef. The Ephraim N. Taylor
one of four commercial barges which
she had in tow,.broke away. and was
supposed to be lost. with one man on
board. This morning the barge was
found. at anchor in Black Rock harbor.
The wind and the tide had carried it
in shore. The man was safe and had
anchored the barge.
