Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Golden, of South
Norwalk, have purchased the old Wil
lard clock that has been so much ad-
mired at the store of C. F. Bates it
was an original timepiece and the

Mrs. Golden paid a neat sum for it.

The children of the Congregational
Sunday school, under the direction of
Professor R. M. Smith. rehearsed
Christmas music in the town hall yes-
terday afternoon. The children went
to the hall directly alter school, but
were not permitted to enter by Janitor
George W. Clock who had just arrang-
ed the hall for the Men' s Club of the
Congregational Church which gave a
lecture last night. Professor Smith
went around and saw some of the
members of the-club. He was finally
allowed to take the children in the
hall. after being delayed over an hour.

Company for the proposed bridge at
Point Elice were seized tor the some
reason. The provincial government is
appealing to Ottawa against the action
of the collector The amount of duty
claimed in plans for the Seattle Com-
pany is $460.
