the unexpected lengthening out of cor
tain civil cases now on trial. There
in one on in Danbury. and another in
this city and the officials who are to
serve in the criminal courts are on-
based in these cases.
The prise case of this lot is the one
at Danbury. where ‘Jndge Edwin E. Ga~
gar and a jury have been busy for the
past six weeks. This is an action
brought by C. C. Crossley. a Dsnbury
builder. against E. Starr Sanford.
Mr. Sanford formerly lived in Dan-
bury. He grew Weary of the hat towu
and journeyed to New York. He open-
ed up an art gallery near Fifth avenue.
and was busy for many years taking
New York faces, the firm name bolus
Davis at Sanford. incidentally he made
money. Then he had a yearning to go
back to the quiet town of his early
years. When his eyes rested on the
range of old hills that. surrounds the.
town he wanted to put a house in the
