given out by an oiiiccr of a stermer last
week that the vessel was seen helpless
and adrift at sea on August 22. Sat-
urday .l. and W. R. Wing. agents of the
vessel telegraphed Captain Crosby, oi
the British bark Sokoto. at Philadel-
phia who reported sighting her.
Captain Crosby wired that the Tuck—
er and schooner Adella Chase were
sighted in company August 22. Both
vessels reported all well on board. The
Tucker had 250 barrels of oil on board
nor the Chase 2.000. The two vessels
were bound west to Hatteras ground
and thence to this port.
There had been no one lost from the
Tucker's ship's company since the
death of Captain Benton, previously'reo
