The axle on a delivery wagon of the
Norwalk Boston Store was broken in
West avenue. yesterday afternoon. by
one of the wheels on the vehicle catch-
ing in the trolley track. No one was
injured. but it will take several days to
make repairs to the wagon.
There was considerable fun on the
steamboat dock in South Norwalk this
morning about 11 o'clock, just after
the steamer Harlem dropped anchor.
A keg of beer burst as it was unloaded
from the boat. Tin cars and every
kind of a receptacle were brought into
use. and it can be said that very little
beer was wasted. About thirty men
and boys were around the keg at
one time.
MOCCASIN LAUNCHED.
NEW YORK( August 20.——The sec-
ond of the new submarine boats for
the navy. the Moccasin, was launched
today at the Crescent Shipyards at
Elizabethport, N. J. The Moccasin is
63 feet four inches long. 11 feet 9 inch
on beam. She is titted with a 160
horse power steam engine for surface
travelling and a 70-borse power dyna
Inc for under water work. Her sur-
face speed will be about eight knots.
The new boat is equipped with five tor-
pedo tubes.
