The Bonner-Preston Company to Be-
gin Regiiding it This Week.

made a contract with the BonnenPres-
ton Company. of Hartford, tor the re»
gliding of the Capitol dome. The work
will be begun at an early date, prob-
ably next week. The work of regiiding
so large a‘ surface is of considerable
magnitude. it will, be necessary to
scrape 'the’ old gliding entirely from
the dome and this will be done by
means or boat-scrapers 01 steel. in or-
der that the workmen may reach the
high altitude and perform their labors
without danger, platform chairs will
be let down by strong ropes (mm the
lantern platform of the dome and these
chairs can be moved up or down or
sideways, as the work requires.
After the old gliding has been thor-
oughly scraped away the surface will
be covered with a specialty prepared
paint. At this point it wil be .neoesi
sary to protect from the wind and rain
the part of the dome where the Work is
being done, and this will be affected by
