The contract for the making of the
boilers which will he used in the pow-
er house at NorthSalem has been
awarded the Stirling Boiler Company.

water tube variety and the finest that
can be built. The power. house ltscli
will be a model one, the plans being
now completed. It will be of brick and
will be a complete plant. containing a
machine shop and special compart-
ments for varnishing and washing
care. The contract for the electrical
euuipment has been awarded to the
Stanley Electrical Manufacturing 750m-
pany. of Plttsileld. Mass. This com-
pany has a reputation for long dis-
tance transmission and has equipped
some of the finest trolley roads in the
country.
While the actual building of the
road will be commenced at the earliest
possible day. it will probably be July 1
before the first tie is laid. The secur-
ing of the ties, obtaining ballast and
many other details must first be set-
tlod. By the date mentioned, maybe
before, the work will be commenced
in earnest if no unforseen obstacles
make their appearance.

the New York state portion of the road
is being held today at Salem Cént‘o‘r.
N. Y. As the road is being built un-
tier two separate charters. one in Con-
necticut and one in New York state.
