The omnibus fish and same law.
which was passed by the House last
week. as heretofore reported, is of
much inetrest to sportsmen through
out the state. The all] makes a closed
season of ten years for deer, beginning
June 1; makes the closed season on
gray squirrels from December 1 to
September 30, and on hares and rah
hits from January 1 to September 30
and prohibits the use of ferrets in tak-
ing rabbits from October 15, ',1901 to
Octoher 15 1905.
The closed season for webfooted ‘
wild fowl is from April 1 to August 31;
for quail. woodcocll and partridge from
December 1 to September 30. and pro
hibiting their taking. sale or posses
also during the close‘d season, and pro-
hibiting their transportation except
when accompanied by their actual
ovmer The closed season for snipe is
trom April 1 to August 31; and no per- '
son may kill more than my in any one ;
day. The :closed season for pheasants
