The structure was burned nearly to the ground. The flames were fed by a quantity of hay. which made a very hot blaze. The barn contained three horses. several wagons. harnesses, etc. When the department arrived the flames had gained such a headway that it was Im- possible for them to save anything but a few wagons and some harness, the three horses being burned. The fire- men dld good work, and saved a tone- ment house. that-stands near the barn. The house was occupied by an Italian family named St. Charles. The loss to Mr. Walker will be about SI ..000 The barn was owned by Frank J Donohue. of South Norwalk. and Insured. The cause of the fire is a mystery.
