ladies of the A. M. E. Church, under
the direction of Miss Funny Howlsy.
Supper was served'frqm 6 till 10
o'clock and then ice cream and cake
were sold. An entertainment was giv~
on by the young people. The first num~
her was Messrs. Littleton and Gordon
in a duct and Miss Ethel Thompson
followed with a solo. Miss Victoria
Blackwell recited and Miss Huwloy
and Miss Bertha Carl gave solos.
The songs of the Standing Four
quartettc. of New Haven. were greatly
enjoyed. This quarteite is composed
of Joseph Huntley, ()rrln Powers. Hari
ry Powcrs and Harry Merrill. They
were accompanied by Fred Barnes.

DEATH OF MRS. AUGUSTUS BOU-
TON.
M rs. Augustus Bouton died suddenly
this morning after a brief illness of
malarial fever, at her home in oily
avenue. Deceased was forty~three
years of age; and was well-known in

friends. Mrs. Bouton hub been for
many years a member of the Network
Baptist Church; and was beloved by all
who knew her. Five children survive.
