He had hardly returned to the barroom
when u gentleman appeared and called
for 11 Carrie Nation cocktail. Mr. [)0-
innd mixed up one of his best whis-
key cocktails. put the hatchet in the
glass and poured the contents over it.
it was a huge Joke and was enjoyed
immensely. Before the day was out
he had given away nearly the dozen
hatchets in cocktails. The idea was
entirely original. and it is presumed
that other bartenders will follow suit.
