The Port Chester Journal claims
to have discovered the worst piece .of
road in these parts. It is situated in
the town of Greenwich. and this is
what the Journal says about it:
“If the commission which has charseE
of the roads of the state ‘wouid only
come to Greenwich. we would show
them the worst stretch of road that-
God over permitted man and beast in
travel over. We hays reference to the.
Post Road from a point below the Old
Toll Gate down Nigger Hole Hill to the
lower entrance to Bolleaire. if there
is a mortal who ever saw a more dan~
serous and wretched piece of road, we.
would be pleased to see him and ascer-
tain what section of perdltion he came
from. it will he remembered that un-
der the law providing for the joint
town. a contract was made with Con--
tractor John 0. Merritt.
