has broken out again. The announce
ment was made Christmas afternoon.

six days. She died Saturday afternoon l

which her body was cremated.

doubt that she died of the plague, thei
announcement of the fact was not made 1
until Christmas day. When Miss John 3
son was first taken sick, it was said she'
had the plague, and she was kept undeii

health. Then it was announced that she
did not have the plague.

age passenger. On account of the plague
the agents of the vessel refused to carry
out the 50 people who wanted to come to
San Francisco second class.
The Plague at Manila.
MANILA, Jan. 4.—-The health oflicere
have found a native with all the symp-
toms of bubonic plague in a house in the
walled city where two suspicious deaths
have occurred. The patient has been iso
lated, and every precaution has been tak-
en to prevent a spread of the disease.
