AMUSEMENTS.
” McDoodle’s Flats.”
The performance at Hoyt’s Theatre,
last night, attracted a good audience.
McDoodle was the word that drew the
crowd, the very name apparently a
synonym of humor and wit. The audi-
ence was not disappointed, but on the
contrary were kept in constant roars of
laughter at the funny situations. J .K.
Mullen is inimitable, his make-up be-
ing peculiarly ludicrous, and what
seemed to appeal most forcibly to the
risibles was the contortions of his face.
J. C. Leach was also excellent in his
part of M11. Poodle. Frank W. Berry
and Jack Hughes were recalled again
and again in their comedy parts and
with the various musical instruments
of which they are accomplished
artists. The costumes of the ladies,
who were all very fine in their respec-
tive parts and who were, as well, a
group of good looking ones, were hand-
some and modish.
