Itockwell Hoyt, a member of Pilgrim
Lodge of 0.1.1 Fellows, was buried on
Thursday last.. His funeral was attended
by a delegation from Our Brother’s Lodge,
Norwalk, composed of the following gentle-

bers of Our Brothers Lodge were met by a
delegatiOu of Pilgrim Lodge, and escorted to
Mr. Resseque’s hotel where a fine dinner
was prepared for them. , .

The funeral was at the Congregational
church, the, Rev. Mr. Fuller preached the
sermon; the services at the grave were by
the Rev. Mr.Bis_hop ofthe Episcopal church,
who acted as chaplain of Pilgrim‘ Lodge.

Bro. lloyt belonged to the Odd Fellows
Fllhcl'ai Aid Assn-elation, and his widow
will receivv ﬁfteen hundred dollars there-
from. '

By the removal of Mr. N. M. Beldenplo
New Canaan, Wilton will lose one of‘ her
most valued citizens. Mr. B. has held vari-
ous pIublic ofﬁces for which he was eminent-
ly qualiﬁed, both by education and natural
ability; and the punctuality and precision

a marked contrast to the present lax condi-

The G. A. R. pic-nic was a grand success.

Mr. John St..Leger,a man about 70 years
of age and very deaf, while returning from
a visrt to the Catholic Cemetery in East
Bridgeport Wednesday afternoon,was struck
by the train from the east which arrives in
this city at 3:09, and died from his injuries
during the night.

The grand regatta at lake Waruniallg,tn-
