It is now a certainty that the Boston.
Hartford &. Erie railroad, so long tied up in
red-tape, will be in practical operation Wilh-
in a very few months. The new president
of the road, William 1‘. Hart, Esq., accom-
panied by a committee of the directors and
several home and foreign capitalists passed
through Danbury, in carriages. last Satur-
day, on an ins eciion tour of the unfinished
section of the ine. It will be remembered
that this road was, some dozen or more
years ago, completed as far as Waterbury,
in this state, and the rest of the distance,
thence to Fisbkill, N. Y., but partially con-
structed. The ntlemen reported that the
earthwork they ad thus far visited was in
a very fair stale, and but little afieeled by
the elements or long neglect, and represent-
ed that the masonry was in splendid condi-
tion, and as firm and solid as on the dav
laid. They were of the opinion that work
on the road would, be resumed early next
spring. and that it would be rapidly pushed
forward to completion. The corporation
has been freed at all legal difficulties, and
sin le caplisi’is arauteed. The line is to.
