M r. H. K. Hotchkiss, a dry goods incr-
chant of Ansonia, was robbed of a valuable
gold watch Thursday evening,at the Atlan-
tic Hotel billiard room. '
Peter ‘Sehrepp, a. crazy Gelman confined
in the almshouse, died recently from inju-
ries inflicted on himself by beating against
the bars of his room. '
A gold watch and some jewelry belonging
to a daughter of J. P. Black, which Were
stolen in a mysterious way some time ago,
were returned a night or two since by being
tied to the inside of a'window shutter.
John Sweeney was badly burned about
the face on Wednesday, by the explosion of
some powder which had been mixed in pa-
per with which he had been trying to kindle
a tire. - I
