Sec. 63. The Connecticut National Guard
shall parade annuallyiin the month of May,

Sec. 64. The commanding officer of each
company shall order his company to assem-

Sec. ’76. Every com say, while encamp-
ed, shall have roll-cal , as follows : on the
first day at noon and at close of evening
parade; on the remainrng days'at seven
. o'clock in the morning, at noon, at 9 o’clock
in the evening, and at such other times as
the commandant of the regiment may we
scribe; and any ofiicer or sold‘cr, absent
from either- afraid roll-calls except such as
are absent on duty, or excused by compe-
tent authority, shall be considered as being
absent for the day, and shall be allowed no
compensation for said day. The commander
of the regiment shall deluil officers from his
staff, who shall attend the roll-call of the
companies, and report to the commandant
of the regiment and the names of the ab-
sentees of each company.‘
See. 77. The commandant of each regi-
ment shall, within ten days after the May
parade, in each year, if said parade be by
regiment, make out and Certify. under oath,
and return to the adjutanl-general a com-
plete roll in duplicate, of the field, staff and
band, who shall have done duty at said pa-
rade in conformity with this act, and who
are entitled to be paid for services under the
same, stating the amount due to each and
the towns to which they respectively belong ;
and the commanding officer of each compa-
ny shall,wilhin ten days after the Ma parade,
in each (year, make out and cert' y under
oath, an return to the adjutant-general, a
complete roll in duplical‘ of the members of
his company, who shallaave done duly at
said parade in conformity with this acl,and
who are entitled to be paid for military ser-
vice under the same, slalin the amount due

cause one of said duplicate rolls, certified by

Sec. 86. General, field, and commissioned
officers, for any neg‘ect of duty, or for disobe-
drence of orders, or for any unofilcer-like
conduct, shalt] be liable to be tried by a court
martial. Each stafi‘ofilcer,non-commission-
ed Ofilcer, musician. and private ofany re i-
meal, company, section or band, who shag],
'wrthout satisfactory excuse to the command-
lng officer, fail to appear at the time and
place appointed for any parade or choice of
officers, or who, afler appearing, shall leave
sard parade or meeting for the choice of'of-
ficers, without the permission of the com-
manding oficer, shall forfeit his pay for that
day's services, and shall also pay a fine of
five dollars for each do or time of absence
or neglect of dnl ; an every slafi-ofilcer,

vatenwho shall be guilty of any nnSoldierly
or disgraceful conduct, or disobedience of
orders, may be fined by his commandin of-

_ Sec. 87, The certificate of any command-
rng officer, made under oath, shall be evi-
dence of any and all forfeitures and fines in-
curred in pursuance of this act ; and if an
forfeiture or fine incurred, as aforesaid, abs 1
not be paid wilhin ten days after notice
thereof, said commanding ofilcer shall bring-
an actron of debt in his own proper name,
for the recovery thereof, and shall have pro,

body of the delinquent, to he proceeded with.
In all respects as in actions of tort; and if
leave, and shall be‘derllt with accordingly;—

when ordered into service by company,
reglment or brigade, as is provrded in this

Sec. 97.‘ .
Thecornmanding officer of each company
shall, immediately after a. detachment, com;
pany, regiment or brigade shall be ordered
to rendezvous for service at anv particular
llme and place, make return of the names
and places of abode of all the persons under
his command who shall have incurred any
of the penalties provided .in the preceding
section Ofthis act, to the brigade-inspector
of the brigade to which they respectively
belong ; and the brigade-inspector, within
twenty days from the time of his receiving
said return, shall make a like return to the
state attorney for the county in which such
person or persons may reside.
Sec. 98. The superior court may hear
and determine all actions for any violations
of the provisions of this chapter; and the
state allorne s, in the several counties, may
prosecute t e same, by action of debt, in:
the name of the stale treasurer, orb infor-‘
