and uriua-y organs—none so stealthily undermine
health—none tender existence such a cameo. And
yet unhsppdy, so greatly does our mode of life, our
manners and our customs predispose these delicate
organs or our body to diseme, that no class 'or condi-
tion of people a. as exempt from their destructive in-
fluence. Iudeeu so prevalent are they among people
of the present. day, that scarcely a man or woman
can be found whose kidneys and attendant organs
are in a periecsly soundantt healthy condition. By
recent. statistics it is i'outul that non. ly LWu-thirds at
all the- deatus occurring in the United States can be
clearly traced to some one or other of the diseases
or thus class, and to siren this ratio there are bun-

these diseases begin so slowly and imperceptibly that
