' Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives in General Assembly convened. . . .
The family of each person resident in this State.
who has enlisted into the naval service of the United
States. since the ninth duy oi July 1864. for the term
of one year, and has been credited to due State. and
the family of each person residing out of this Stale.
Who was accepted into the naval service of the
United States and credited to this State since the
above named time, where such family actually re-
sided in this Stale at the time of enlistment of such
erson, shall receive from the treasury of this State,
or the support, an " maintenance of such famil , the
same amount perm mth as those who cnliste int
the military service for a like term, payment to com-
mence at the time such Ipersons were mustered int
the service of the Unite States Navy, and continue
during his term of service; except where the same
has been advanced by the town from which said pur-
ty enlisted, in which case the money advanced shall
be refunded to the town by the State instead’of the
family of such volunteer.

LXI, of the Ipublic acts 011863, is hereby so amended
that instea of the sessions of the registrars pro-
vided in said section on Friday and Saturday of the
fourth week receding the day of an electors' meet-
ing, they sha i be required to hold such session only
on said Saturday for the some purposes, and in all
other respects as prescribed in said not. And instead
of [he f vur sessions for revision and correction, pre-
scribed iu said fourth section. the registrars shall give
notice of, and hold only one, two. or three such les-
' sions, in all respects as provided by, law; Provided,
that their town shall have voted'at its, precedin an-

SEC. 2. In all cities of this State, or in any bc-
rough or town, the aforesaid policemen, bailiff or

my minor under the age of seventeen years, dining
common school hours aforesaid, and ascertain whe-
licr such minor is a. Iruunt from school, or is engag-
