RIDGEFIELD.
A second festival, ’with floral tableaux, is
to be given by the Floral Society, on the
evening of the 28th inst. The premiums
oil‘cred are somewhat higher than before,
and the Ridgefield Band will assist in the
entertainment.
DARIEN.
A ladies Fair, for the benefit of the Pros-
byterian church, is to be held at Fitch’s
Hall, commencing next Wednesday after-
noon, 27th inst. It promises tobe a pleasing
entertainment, and especially so as Fairs are
not of frequent occurrence in Darlen.
WESTPORT.
Relative to the Bridgeport boat-race an-
nounced for Wednesday last, but which did
not come off because of bad weather, we
will say that much indignation has been
expressed here and elsewhere,_by influential
parties interested, at the conduct of those
gentlemen having the matter in charge in
not allowing the race to take place on the
first fair day succeeding the date advertised.
Failing on Wednesday the 14th it was un-
dcrstood that Thursday, if pleasant, .would
