SENATE—The Senate took a recess, du-
ring which the Hon. Schuyler Colfax, Vice
President of the United States entered the
Senate Chamber, where he was introduced
toJaieut-Gov. Wayland, and by him the sen-
ators were introduced individually to the
Vice-President. After conversing with
some tbr a few moments he was escorted to
the House of Representatives. ,

Substitute bill extending the provisions
of section 90 of act rélatin to courts, to
any surety upon a bond given under the
provisions of section 96 of an act relating to
settlement of estates, and to the heirs, exec-
utorsamd administrators of such surety ;
passe .

Re art of the finance committee, stating
that r. Mosely, the late State Treasurer,
had refimded the sum of $2,525, received
by him as interest money during his term
0 ofiice, and recommending that the Treas-
urers report, so amended, be accepted and
ordered on file.

Boom-Resolution instructing the com-
mittee to report a bill for a general railroad
law ; referred.

The Vice-President Mr. Colfax was ac-
companied to the speakers desk by the com-
mittee, Evaicutcnant-Governor Averill and
other distinguished gentlemen.

The House took a recess, and the mem-
bers all took the Vice~President cordially

Mr. Pratt, of,Norwich, moved to reconsid-

The reports on the Parallel road were ta-
ken up, and on motion of Mr. Washburn
was made the order of the do on Tuesda ,
at 12 o’clock, and the vote 0 cred on Wed-
da , at 12 o’clock.

.Pratt, of Norwich, called up the re-

. ports on the proposed new town of Plain-
ville, a resolution for the incorporation of
the town bemg reported by a majority (4)
