Patrick German, a madman in the employment of
Chas. Williams Esq., while prying a huge stone,
which covers a well on Mr. Williams’ premises, lost
his balance and fell backward. While endeavoring to
save himself his hand came in contact with the prong
of a potato digger which inflicted a severe wound.
Although some time elapsed before it was thought to
be dangerous, on Tuesday he was lockjawed and mor-
litlcation set in, which proved fatal. He died Thurs-
day afternoon. ' '
