Notice is hereby given, that there will be a
general reunion of the officers and men, at
Hartford, on the 22d of October, 1807-- the
date of the original encampment of the First
Batallic-n.
All honorably discharged members are
urged to be present, and to report as early in
the day as possible, at the Representatives
Hall, in the State House, which has been
kindly piaccd at our disposal, and will be
oren as a rendezvous during the forenoou.
At 12 M, addresses will be delivered, reviv~
ing memories of old times, by Chaplain
Wariner, Chaplain Holmes, and others, after
which, the Regiment will dine together.
A very cordial invitation is extended also
to members of the Isl. Squadron, and of the
Ist Batalliori, in fact to every honorably dis-
charged Cavalryman who went to the war
from Connecticut.
As it is impossible to arrange properly for
the occasion, unles; it is known tit-finitely

Tuesday over an attempt of Mary Crowley
to kill James Fitz Gibbons, with air axe as
he sat at the breakfast table. She dealt on
his head two severe blows, and eatne within
a hairs breadth ot‘killiug him. She was ur-

The girl ought not to be judged too harshly,
as she alleges that Fitz Gibbons had about
a month before made an attempt on her vir-
tue, which allegation is admitted to a certain
extent to be true. Justice in her ens.- ought

parties were in the service of Dr. Lynes at
the time, and the assault occurred at his
house. The girl has been with Dr. Lyrics 11
months, and he speaks well of her character.
Fitz Gibbons has nearly recovered from his
wounds.

understood to have been urged by several of
the friends 01 the defeated candidate, Mr. P.
'I‘. Barnum, prominent among whom was ex-

nance manufacturer. The friends of the
Great Showman believe they can adduce suf-
ficert evidence of cross corruption and fraud
practiced by the friends of the successful
