Sec. 1. That the State Board of Educa-
tion is hereby authorized to have printed and
distributed, uniform blank, registers, to be
kept in the public schools, of such form as
may be prescribed by said board.
Sec. 2. The expenses of printing and
distributing such blanks, shall be paid by the
treasurer.

CHAPTER XXV“. .
An Act for the protection of .1181) in the Col-
umbia Reservorr.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives in General Assembly convened .-
Tliat every person who, prior to the first
day of January, A. D., 1869, shall be guilty
of catching or taking fish, either by book,
spear, net or seine,- shall be punished by a
fine not exceeduig seven dollars for every
such offence, one-half to him who shall pros-
ecute and the other half to the treasurer of
the town.

CHAPTER XXVIII.
An Act to confirm certain Conveyances of
Real Estate. ‘
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatlvestn General Assembly convened .-
Sec. 1. All assignments or other convey-
ances of real estate heretofore made by any
person, persons or corporation for the bene-
fit of creditors. according to the prOViSions
of the fifth chapter of title twentieth of the
General Statutes, but attested to by no th-
ness or by only one witness, shall be as val-
id and effectual, to all intents and purposes,
as if the same had been attested by two wrt-
nesses.
Sec. 2.‘This act shall be in force from the
time of its passage, but shall not shoot any
suit now pending.

CHAPTER XXIX.
An Act in addition to An Act entitled “An
Act for the Assessment and Collection of
Taxes.”
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives in General Assembly concened : .
Sec. 1. That whenever the assessors in
. any town have failed or neglected to lodge
their assessment lists and abstract, in the of-
fice of the town clerk of such town, on or
before the fifteenth day of December, in the
vear in which such lists and abstracts were
made, but which have been subsequently so
lodged, such assessment shall not on that ac-
count, be deemed invalid, but shall be in all
respects as valid and good in law as if such
lists and abstract had been lodged in accor-
dance with the provisions of the statute re-
lative thereto.
Sec. 2. This act shall not affect any suit
now pending.

CHAPTER XXX.
An Act in addition to “An Act for the regu-
lation of Civil Actions.” ,
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Repre-
sentatives in General Assembly convened.-
Sec. 1. That if any owner or lessee of
land shall wilfully or maliciously erect, or
cause to be erected, upon the same, any
building or structure, which shall impair,
the value of the land or buildings of any ad-
jacent proprietor, with intent to injure such
adjacent proprietor, in the enjoyment or dis-
position of his said lands or buildings, such
person making such erection shall be liable
to such adjacent proprietor for all damages
thus sustained by the latter, tO be r'ecovered
in a proper action on the case.
See. 2. Courts of equity shall have juris-
diction to restrain by injunction,the commis-
sion of the injury set forth in the preceding
section of this Act.
See. 3. This act shall take effect from and
after its passage, but shall not affect any suit
now pending.

An Act in addition to “An Act concerning
Crimes and Punishments.”
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep-
resentatives in General Assembly convened :
Sec. 1. That so much of the forty-eighth
section of Title XII of the revised Statutes
as enacts that the term of imprisonment in
the Connecticut State Prison for the commis-
sion of the offences therein named shall not
be less than two years, be, and the same is
hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. This act shall take effect from the
day of its passage. .

. CHAPTER XXXII. _
An Act in addition to “An Act concerning
Communities and Corporations."
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rep-
resentattves in General Assembly convened:
That the Selectmen of any town, he, and
hereby are empowered to erect or lease a
suitable building or apartments within the
limits of their respective towns, for a lock—
up where persons awaiting trial or examina-
tion before a magistrate for offenses commit-
ted within the limits of the town, may be
confined until they shall be discharged or
committed to the common jail of the county.

Sec. 1. That in all cases where the clerk
of any school district, shall have heretofore
neglected to take the oath of oflice prescribed
by law before entering upon the discharge
of thelduties of his ofhceor making up his rec-
ord, the acts and doings of such district shall
not for such reason be invalid but the same
slim be and hereby are ratifieh and confirm-

Sec. 2. This act shall: not affect any suit

CHAPTER XXXVI,
An Act ll‘ addition to an Act entitled “An
Act for the Settlement of Estates, Testatc,
Intestate and Insolvent.”
Be it enacted by the Senate and [louse of
Representatives in General Assembly conven-
That whenever in any estate in settlement
in any court of probate, a portion of the
property shall have been bequeathed to one
or more persons in fee, or in tail, and the res-
idue of said property shall heintestate estate
and in common with the legatees or devi-
sees, the court of probate may make a just
distribution of such property to the several
persons interested therein, which distribution
shall be made by three disinterested persons
or any two of them, to be appointed. by the
court of probate, and sworn as the law dis
roots; and the doings of said distributors re-
turned to, and accepted by said court of pro-
bate, in conformity with the provisions of
law relating to the distribution of intestate
estates, shall be binding on all persons inter—
ested in said property. But if any person
.ball be aggrieved by the- action of distribu-
End‘s, or by any decree of the court of pro-
!~..te in relation thereto, he may appeal to the
superior court as in otherlfiises of appeal
from the court Of probate, said uperior
court may ‘grant the proper relief.
