The various religious denominations in
town seem to be enjoyiuga good degree of
prosperity. The Methodist church of Sang-
:rtuek which has been closed the past year,
is to be supplied with preaching a part of
the time by Rev. Mr. Vinton. The old
church at Poplar Plains is also to receive a
share ofmiiiisterial attention. It has been a
freqttent question whether a small village
can sustain two churches of tlicsamc denom-
ination. 'l‘liat question seems to be settled
by the Very flattering appearance which both
.lre Episcopal churches in Westport present.
