BRIDGEPORT.—-A three masted schooner
115 feet long, valued at $35,000 was launch-
ed from Moore’s ship yard, on Tuesday last.

The sale of pews at the Norlh Cong’l
church, last week, realized $5,000. _

The Standard is going to publish a new
City Directory.

’lhc Annual Parade ol the Fire Depart-
ment will take place May 13th. The Amer-
icnsHose Co., No 6 will secure Gratulas’
iiand for theparadc. Protector No. 2, the
Wheeler 1E7. Wilson's Band, and No. 3 the
New Haven Band.

The Carpet Company have concluded to
erect a new factory at once, which will be
200 feet long by. 62 feet wide and Iii-feet high.
Messrs. Lambertdr Bunnel are the archi-
tects, Mr‘.Thos..Crossiey has gone to En.-
,~ope on business for the company, and will
visit the French exposition.

The new Wheelerda Wilson Sewing Ma—
chine Factory is 370 feet long and covers
from two to three acres oi ground, and is
one story high. The number of windows
and panes of glass in the building is 6,721.

The Sons of Temperance have located in
Lafayette Hall, and fitted it u in excellent
condition. At oneendoithe all,paintedin

blight letters on a handsome ground work
are the words, ‘Bridgeport Division Sons of
Temperance} and over the desk in a half cir-
cle are the mottoes of the order, 'Love, Puri-
fy and fidelity ;' the arch contains the eru-
lilctu ot' the society, a lrl colored triangle.
'l‘lrs side s of the room are hung with large
photographs, certificates of membership, &c.
The first charter of the society is neatly fram-
ed, and adorns the walls. It contains but
eleven names. Now the- society numbers
303, Auto rooms have been conveniently
arranged, and the Division has suflicieotrea-
sons to be proud of its present Hall.

The Fairfield County Medical Society met
on Thursday at the City Hotel. Present—
