ODD FELLows.—There are in this State
twenty lodges of Odd Fellows, having an
aggregate membership of 1,763, and a fund
amounting to $51,981. The four largest are
in the city of New Haven, with a member-
ship of 805 and a fund of $24,982. “Our
Brother’s” lodge of Norwalk stands second
in rank as regards funds and fith in mem-
bership, having 147 members and a fund of
$7,623._ “Nosabogan” lodge of Waterbury
ranks ninth in membership and seventh in
amount of funds. There were over three
hundred initiations during the past year.

Delaware, died in Washington, on Friday,
aged fifty years.
—The Adams Express robbers, Martin
Allen and John Grady, have been sentenc-
ed by Judge Phelps, iii Fairfield Superior
Court; Allen to eight years and a half, and
Grady to seven years and a half, in the State
Prison.

involvmg about $100,000, has been decided
in favor of the will, and against the neglect-

to add twenty per cent to the salaries of all
route agents receiving less than $600 and
$1,200 per annum. Route agents receiving
less than $600 are hereafter to be classed as
messengers. ‘

place in the organization of society, and one
of these, a very striking change from the
old time way of doing things, is the method
of trading. “Formerly every merchant,”
remarks a cotemporary, “had his regular
circle of customers, who thought it next to
sin to deal elsewhere than at the regular-
place. Now ‘regular customers’ are for the
most part unknown. People change their
shoemaker and hatter just as they do their
doctor and lawyer. Of course newspapers
have had a great deal to do with the change.
The liberal, judicious advertiser, in every
department of trade, and in every profes-
sion, takes the trade. Men who advertise
liberally are esteemed by mankind as more
generous than those who do not, and there-
fore better bargains may be had of them.
This is both philosophical and logical. It is
the experience of all who have business iii-

ingly gratifying to the proprietor of this Medi-

For sixteen years the Burton Dacron has been
manufactured and sold, and every year has Increased
the value of its reputation, and the amount of" its
sales. In New Haulpshire, where it was origina-
ted, no remedy for Rumors is so highly prized. Au
eminent physician (now an army surgeon.) when
practicing in N. H. purchased between fifty and six.
ty gallons of it, during some seven or eight years,
and used it in hib'practice. He has since then or-
dered it for the Hospital where he was stationed.
Other physicians have purchased it, and have used
it in practice with perfect success. When the pro-
prietor lived in New Hampshire, at Gofi‘stown Cen-
tre, for the space of thirty or forty miles around,
and in Manchester particularly, the Humor Doctor
was well known and highly valued for the numer-
ous and wonderful cures which it effected. Though
manufactured in large quantities, the supply was
frequently exhausted, and purchasers had to wait
for more to be made. In that region‘ome very se-
vere cases of Erysfpelas were treated with it, and
they were cured. Erysipelas sores, or Carbuncles
those ugly painful ulcers, were entirely removed,
wherever this medicine was faithfully used. So it
was with Scr'ofula and Salt Rheum. The Humor
Doctor cured them.
Since the Proprietor‘s removal to Melrose. Mass.,
his present residence, he has been regularly selling
it, to patients who have applied to him in person,
and has been very successful in relieving and curing
them. One case of Erysipelas—of an old man 72
years—is worth mentioning in particular. When he
came to the Doctor’s office he could only wear a pair
of old rubber overshoes his feet and ankles were so
‘swollcu and sore. When he pulled ofi‘his socks the
scabs came with them, and the raw bleeding feet
were frightful to behold. Sufilce it to say, that less
than one dozen bottles of the Humor Doctor (and in
a few weeks) healed up those feet and ankles, so

man were boots without inconvenience. Numerous
cases of pimples in the face have been treated with
this medicine, to the entire eradication of them. In
Meb-ose alone, there are more than a hundred per-
sons who have used the Humor Doctor, and give it
an excellent name. In all the towns around it is
well known and approved.
