some of it has been offered at “the stone

son’s signature is well knowu,) and it was in-
stantly pronounced a forgciy ! Mr. Johnson,
we are informed, has never put his name to
any such paper. Indeed. except 1!] a Single
transaction growing our of the emancmation
of a. slave, which was not. Willi “ English &
00.,” but with Mr. J antes, E. English, he has
never had anything to do with any member
of that firm. The only genuine paper'of, his
now in circulation is, in favor Of ,Hawley,
Winchester & Co... and bears the endorse-
ment of Dixon & Foster. It also bears upon
the face the word “loyal,” which is omitted
inT-the bogus staff. The attempted fraud is
the work Of persons who, having a grudge
against ‘Mr. Johnson because of the failure
alluded to already, are trying to ruin him by
forging his name to large amounts,.and add-
ing their own worthleaaendorsement try-give

Peruvian Guano in appearance, Odor and

nearly double the amount of soluble and bone

rals, parties, etc, supplied with Hacks and
Stages, at short notice. Carriages to and from
all trains, etc. Those in want of good teams
will do well to call.
