_ endorsed “ Proposals for Class No. (name the
class) for the navy yard at (name the yard,") will be
received at this office until'the 22d of J one next, at
lo’clock P. M., at which hour the opening of the
bids wilibe commenced for furnishing and deliver-
10% at the neural navy yards named, the materials
an articles embraced in printed schedules, which,
with full instructions will be furnished on applica-
tion, and sent by mail, if so requested, to ersons
desiring to offer 'to contract for any or al of the-
classes named therein bythe commandants of the sev-
eral navy yards, for the classes of the yards under
their command, or the navy agent nearest thereto,
or by the Bureau for any or all of the yards.
In consequence of recent orders to retrench Gov-
ernment ex eases, only fifty per cent. of the quan-
tity of artic es named in the schedules for the navy
yards, excepting for buildin materials. machinery,
coal and Naval Asylum, will e required or received.
but bidders will affix the prices and carry out the
amounts on all the articles named in the. schedule,
in order that the bids may be uniform. ‘
