UNDER the President’s Proclamation,
the under-Signed has been detailed to so-
licit Recruits to fill the ranks of this favorite
Regiment up to the maximum number. It
is hardly necessary to point out to Old Sol-
diers the advantages which are possessed by
“ Scott’s 900” over all other organizations.
It is proverbial that the men are better
clothed, fed, sheltered mounted and epuipped
than any other regiment in the service. It
has been esteemed above all others as is
evinced in the fact that it has for two years
furnished the
PREsIDENT‘s ESCORT, and the BODY GUARD
or GEN. HALLECK.
It has one of the most perfect camps ever
formedin the country, embracing Barracks
for 1200 men, Stables for 1,500 horses, with
Kitchens, Mess Rooms, etc. ; also a splendid
drill track for testing the speed of horses,
and the skill Of riders. The camp overlooks
the City of Washington, and is as healthy,
as pure air, good water, dad, can make it.
A SPLENDID RECIMENTAL BAND, is main-
taincdat an expense of $500 a month for the
amusement of the men.
Those intending to give their services to
their Country will be favored if they succeed
in being enrolled upon the Roster of this
Regiment before its ranks are filled-
Recruits will receive bounties ranging from
$677 to $852
according the former services of the volun-
tcer, of which will be paid as soon as mus-
tered into the service, .
