the undersigned has been detailed to so-
. llcit Recruits to fill the ranks of this favorite
Regiment up to the maximum number. It
10 hardly necessary to point out to old 801-
diers the advantages which are possessed by
“Scott’s 900" over all other organizations.
It is proverbial that the men are better
clothed, fed, sheltered mounted and epuipped
than any other regiment in the service, It
' has been esteemed above all others as is
evinced in the fact that it has for two years
furnished the
PiwsiDENT‘s ESCORT, and the BODY GUARD
- or GEN. HALLECK.
It has one of the- ost perfect camps ever
formed in the countfd}. embracing Barracks
for 1200 men, Stables for 1,500 horses, with
Kitchens, Moss Rooms, etc. ; also a splendid
drill track for testing the speed of horses,
and the skill of riders. Tliccamp overlooks
the City of Washington, and 'is as healthy,
as pure air, good water, &c., can make it.
