Meeting of said Inhabitants will be he (I at
the Town House in said District, on Saturday
the 8th day of November, 1862, at 3 o’clock,
afternoon,.to hear the report of the Commit-
tee, to lay a tax sufllcient to pay the balance
of indebtedness, and to transact any other
business necessary to a final closing up of the
affairs of said District. -

school will be continued for one term of ten

BY a Lady, a Gold Watch and Chain.—

The chain was a short one with a. gold
he and a steel key attached. The finder
wil be suitably rewarded by leaving it at
the house of the Widow Ira Ford, or at the
store of C. J. Gruman. The watch was
lost on Thursda evening, she thinks be-
tween Mrs; Fords house and the residence
of David Swords, but is nct positive. The
finder will receive the thanks of the owner,
as well as a suitable reward, by calling with
the watch at either of the above places.

STRAWBEBRIES.

HE NEW YORK ’l‘itlUUNL‘ having
purchased Of Mr. Andrew S. Fuller his
best three Seedling Strawberries, viz: the
“Col. Ellsworth," the “Monitor,” and the
"Brooklyn scarlet,” (ripening in the order
they are named,) will send them to its sub-
scribers.

All are large, very prolific, beautiful color,
fine flavor, not very acid, highly perfumed,
and ripen in succession from very} early to
late, and each kind is bi-sexual, so that it re-
quires no other sort growing near it to make
it productive and the plants are strong and
vigorous growers, and bear the fruit well up
from the ground. To possess one of these
new plants would be a great acquisition .to
any family in the country. To, possess the
three would give the possessor all that he
could reasonably (lesire in this most deli-
cious, most valuable of all fruits; ' Such new
plants are usually sold at $5 a dozen, or 50
cents apiece. At that they are not dear, be-
cause from one all that'a- family wants can
be obtained in a few years. For description

We have agreed to pay the large 'sum of
$3,000 for the three sorts for the purpose of
securing them exclusively, so that our sub-
scribers should have three new kinds of
Strawberries, unlike any other, and, as we
think, valuable for any one to have exclu-
sively, and which no .one but a subscriber
can have for some years, for they will be dis-
tributed in no other way. ,

As the plants must be grown from the very
small stock of seedling plants on hand when
we made the purchase, and as over half a
million will be required, we do not expect
to be able to commence the distribution be-
fore September, 1863; As‘amatter ofcou'rse,
the recipients will only be those who pay to
us one year’s subscription, and the plants will
be sent out in the order subscriptions are re-
ceived. the three plants will be sent to each
person who sends to us a year’s subseription
for either the Daily, Semi-Weekly, or Week-
ly TRIBUNE, indicating at the time 'of sub-
scribing that they desire the strawberries,
aud the distribution will be made in the or-
der the subscriber’s names and requests for

 

, strawberries are received.

Single subscribers will receive their plants
by mail, done up in oiled silk, or other suit-
able oiled substance. . '

To Clubs, plants will be sent in packages,
to correspond with the number of name's in
the Clubs; and where the number will War-
rant it, they will be sent by express, packed
in boxes. . .
