this article which we are selling at one dol-
lar per gallon, and burns much longer than
most of oils, thereby making the cost ofburn-
ing only about one half to three quarters as
much as other oils, which is well-worth the
attention of all burning the Kerosene Oil.
P. S.—We will sell this at wholesale—eith-
er by the barrel or less quantit ——as low as
any good oil can be obtained in ew York.
URNIN‘G FLUID.
We purchase the best alcohol of 95 per
cent, and will use no other for the manufac-
tacture of this article, the result is that it
burns well and quite a number of hours long-
er to the gallon than the poor article that is
made up of cheap stock and consequently rc-
tailed at from four to six cents per gallon less
than we can sell ours for (but beingin-reality
much more expensive and troublesome to the
consumer) and thus it is you daily hear so
many complaining that Fluid is not as good
as it used to be, because, they will not pay
the cost of a good article.

justice to you, and I hope encouragement to
owners of poor land, I will say that I bought
six hundred pounds of Super-Phosphate of
'our son last May, and applied it to an acre of
and in Westchester County, which had been
so thoroughly exhausted that it failed to pro-
duce a decent crop of corn in 1858, even with
a moderate dressng of manure; and my
neighbor told me it was no use for me to plant
it, but I did, though not till June. Tire land
was badly plowed ; planted too late; oorly
tended; and the season was bad; but got a
fair crop of corn: such an one as I was not
ashamed of. Hence, I infer, that Super-Phos-
phate has some value, as the land had no oth-
er Fertilizer. I applied one-half at planting,
and one after the first plowinor, which I did
“an your “Subsoil Lifter.” The soil is the
decayed granite of that region, mixed with
loam and pebbles, and looked as poor as a
lover of poverty could possibly desire. I am
satisfied that if I had not applied the Super-
Phosphate. I should not have had corn
enouxrh to feed an old hen through the win-
ter. not only have good, large, sound cars,
but stalks ten feet high.

seeded it down to grass and grain crops in the
fall of 1858.
It has given me over thirty bushels of White
Rye per acre, and a stand of grass equal to
any I ever saw. The rest of 14 tons I pur-
chased of you was used on other sections of
my farm, and I ‘am more than satisfied with
