has accepted an invitation from a. number of
our citizens who have attended her Readings
elsewhere, to give one of her entertainments
in Norwalk, and she has appointed Wednesday
evening June 29th, as the time. Mrs. Bishop
is very highly spoken of by the most re liable
papers, throughout the country, as a finished
elocutiouist. The New York Home Journal
in speaking ofher Reading in that city, says :
“Mrs. Bishcp’s voice is full and melodious,
her manners graceful and animated, her per-
sonal appearance most attractive and hercon-
ception of the meaning of the authors. she ren-
ders truthful and exact. She needs simply to
be heard to be appreciated and patronized.”

wThe residence of H. Osborne, senior
proprietor of the Daubury Times, was entered
on Tuesday night and robbed of money in
Bank notes and gold to the amount of about
$350. Among the notes were two 550's on
the Danbury Bank and two 350’s on the Pab-
quioque Bank. With the above were also ta-
ken several promissory notes.
