serve the old signs. We therefore re-
peat some of the old sayings which have
stood the test of time. When the sun
rises clear and goes into a cloud, look out
for rain. \Vlien the wind blows from the
occ:-.n——that is, from the southeast, let
your men mow the bushes rather than
the good grass. Whenever the wind is
southwest, cut as much grass as you
please, for this is the right point for steady
and dry weather.
N ever trust to a north wind in Summer,
for this is a.ii unnatural direction at this
season. It is worse than an east wind,
for it leads you into trouble. N 0 one is
deceived by a notlieaster or an east wind,
but many are gulled by a north and
northwest wind in hay time.
A strong west wind is not so certain as
one from the southwest. When the wind
is down south watch it closely, and when
it inclines to the southeast rake up all
the hay that is rakeble. If you have not
a horse rake, sell off some hay and buy
one ; you cannot possibly keep up even
without a horse rake.

Order No. 44.—The following programme
of daily duties is hereby prescribed by the
General-in-Chief for the government of this
Camp.
1. Reveille, at sunrise, when the Companies
will fall in for roll call by First Sergeant’s
Officers present ; ten minutes after. the morn-
ing report will be rendered to_ the Division
Inspector, and by him to the Commanding
Ofii
2. Morning Drill, from 6 to 7 A. M. All
officers will be present, unless excused or on
other duty.
3. Peas upon a trencher at 7 1-2 A. M.,when
the Companies will fall in for roll call by
First Sergeants’ Ofiicers present, immediate-
ly after they will march to breakfa-t.
4. Surgeon’s call, at 8.30 A. M.. when the
aick will be mustered by First Seargeants
and conducted to the Surgeon-‘s tent.
5. Guard mounting. at 9 A. M.; a call will
be sounded at 8.30. when the men, armed for
guard, will turn out on their company parades
for inspection by Fiist Sergeants, superin-
tended by an ofiicer of each Company. Ten
minutes after,a call will be sounded for the
detachments to be marched to the regimental
parade by First Sergeants. Each detachment
will take post on the left of the one that pre-
ceded it, in open order. arms shouldered, and
bayonets fixed. The guard will be turned off
under the direction of th_e.Regimental Stall
Ofiicer.
6. Drill, from 10 to 11.30 A. M.
Head Quarters, First Division g
7. Roast beef at 12.30 P. M., when the Com- V
panics will fall in for roll call by First Ser-
geants’ Officers present; immediately after
they will march to dinner. -
8. Afternoon Drill, from 2 to 3.30 r. M-
9. Evening Drill, from 5 to 6 P. M.
10. Retreat at sundown, when there will be
a Dress Parade. Twenty minutes before a _
signal will be sounded for the music to assem-
ble on the parade, and each Company to turn
out under arms on its own parade, for roll
call and inspection by its officers. Fifteen
minutes after the Adjutantha call will be giv-
en, when the Companies will be marched to
the regimental parade by First Sergeants
the band playing, and will form on the left of
the band, in the order of battle, arms or-
dered and at rest. The parade will be con-
ducted as laid down in Army Regulations.-
The evening gun will be fired at sundown, at
the report of which the flag will be lowered.
ll. Tattoo, at 10 P. M., when the Companies
will fall in for roll call by First Sergeants’
Oflicers present. All officers are expected
to be in camp at this hour. At l0,30 P. M.
three taps of the drum will be the signal for
extinguishing all lights, save in the tent of
the Com manding Officer.

misivers as “ Why, sir, (or madam) you are laboring
under “general debilify,” or “ general tliseusc sec-iiis
to pervade your entire system," or “ there is a general
complication of disorders affecting you." or “disease is
so general throughout your system, that a thorou-.-h
course of medicinal treatment must be adopted for its
removal.” etc. Such answers as these to the poor
trembling patient, at once convey the idea that every,
or nearly every part of the body has become the seat
of extensive organic disease, and for the removal of
which ii. diversified and long course of treatment must
be entered upon for their removal, and the poor piiffent
sinks almost wifhklespondency at the very idea that he
is so much “ out of fix,” and that so much and such a
yarigfy’ of drugs must be taken ere health will be res-
ore .
To all such invnlids I would say, be not discouraged,
for rest assured there is no such state of system as
“general disease,” in the common ucceptntioii of the
term_, for however much the entire system may seem to
be diseased, yet upon close exiiininuf ion and attention
to causes of this apparent general disorder, it will he
found that all_thesc morbid symptoms have for their
source and origin some one or ore diseased points
from which, through that chgf characteristic of the;
illlglggg body--Symputhy—all other morbid symptoms
It is very lie, that one. or more, or even all the or-
gans on the body: may seem tobc diseased, but rest as-
sured that all this diseased action originates, invariably
from one or more diseased points—to illustrate, are voii
troubled with a cough, pain in the side, rapid brerith-
ipg, easily “ out of breath’_' upon the slightest exer-
tion? Are you troubled with sleeplessness, starting in
sleep--your thoughts being rendered more vivid and
painful by the vigils ; impnred volition, neadache,
flushed face, pain in the temples and face, humming
in the ears, twitching of the eyelids. occasional sliglit
obscuration of vision? Do you experience It “ flutter-
ing”of the heart. or palpitation, by quickened exer-
tion, pain in the chest, or darting pains, over the re-
gion of the heart, flying pains, stitches and cramps in
the ribs, between the shoulder blades, about the hips
niirl in the fingers which give you notions of rheuma-
tism ? Have you a dry tongue, or tongue clean, red,
swollen and deeply split in all directions, gums rece
ding from the teeth, breath hot but not fetid, thirst,
loss of appetite, or morbid craving for food, constipa-
tion of the bowels. or irregular as to the time and non-
sea and vomiting? Is your mind irritable. with fits of
depression of several hours’ duration, an impossibility
to apply the mind, imagining that this person or that
person has done you some wrong, or has a. wish to do
so? Are the feet almost constantly cold, and the skin
dry, harsh, sometimes with an unnatural heat, and
sometimes highly sensitive to cold? Is there a. diminu-
tion of secretion from the kidneys, hr the secretion
sometimes one color and sometimes of another, pain
over the region of the kidneys and small of the back,
darting pains running down the thighs, cramps in the
calves of the legs and feet? Have you pain in the right
side, right shoulder, or Tic Doloreux of the face, with n.
billions, sallow complexion, yellowness of the eyeballs?
if so, and there are thousands of patients who can sub-
icribe to every one our greater portion of the above
sy_mptoms,) all this multiform diseased action, may,
and in nine hundred nnd ninety-nine cases in it thou
sand do depend on a small point of inflammation in the
digestive organs, and perhaps no larger than a five
cent piece. From this small point of inflammation,
small as it is, all the morbific symptoms above men-
tioned arise, and the removing of this cause, this
small point ofinflnmination. the curing of this one small
point of diseased action in the digestive organs. the
whole array of multiplied symptoms that you have
looked upon as in “general disease.” and which you:
have oftentimes, no doubt, imagined would sooner or
later close your earthly career, will at once disappear.
Should this meet the eye of any individual whose
feelings and symptoms are described above, who have
any confidence in the doctrine as regards causes as set
forth. the attention of all such is respectfully solicited
to “ Bliss’ Dyspeptic Remed_v”—a. remedy, when used
closely, according to directions, will not fail in resto-
ring diseased action of the stoiniicli, as described above,
and of removing every vestige of disease and every
symptom. No long course of treatinent with this rem-
edy is required to ascertain its true iiierits, for it will
begin to relieve the majority of cases in a very few
clays. There may be cases that will not experiencethis
commencement of relief for perhaps a week or ten days
and there may be others where no appreciable altera-
tion for the better can be discovered under two or three
weeks, but if taken in good faith, and persevered in, it
will not fail to relieve any case, I care not lioiv stub-
born it mnyliave been. Many physicians will probably
read this paragraph with a smile of incredulity, (and
Iounnot blame them, in view of the thousand and one
iiostrums now before the people, all of which are put
forth as “ soverrign reniedies,”)—but that this remedy
will cure any case of Dyspepsia, I am positive, for I
have used this same preparation for years in my prac-
tice. and know its virtues, and most unhesitati ugly say
that there is no case of Dyspepsia but that I can cure,
and use nothing but this preparation. .
