Such articles only will be ‘admitted as are
deemed by the Superintendent to be of public
interest, and worth paying something to see.
Each exhibitor not occupying more than
three squiirc feet of space, will pay ii rent of
$4 per annnm, and for ach additional square
foot: $1. This rent wi be payable quarterly
in advance.
‘For every dollar thus paid, the exhibitor
will receive ten tickets, each giving admission
to one person. .
T"l the first of April, exhibitors will be ad-
mitted free of rent, and it will be at their
option then to continue, on the above terms,
or withdraw.
Every exhibitor will be allowed free admis-
sion for himself, and to keep in attendance in
person or persons necessary to take care of
his exhibition, but not to introduce visitors
without tickets.
The rooms will be warmed, lighted undkept
in order at the expense of the proprietor.
The price of a single ticket, admitting one
person, will be twenty-five cents. _
It. is intended to open the Exhibition to the
public as soon as the space is snfiiciently oc-
cupied, of which due notice will be given.
Those who would secure space, should make
immediate application, by letter, to the Sn-
perintendent, stating the nature of the articles
to be exhibited and the amount of space re-

Prof. Cook in his Annual Report to the
Legislature of New Jersey says : “ The value
of these murls is best seen in the rich and
highly cultivateddistrict which has been im-
proved, almost made, by their use, but it
may be interesting to examine the causes of
their great value in Agriculture, and to com
pare them with other fertilizers. For exam-
ple, the potash alone may be taken at an av-
erage of five per cent. of‘ the whole weight of
the M irl, a bushel when dry weighing eighty
pounds. and in the ‘proportion mentioned
would contain four pounds of potash, this is
nearly as much as there is in ii bushel of un-
lcnchcd wood ashes.” And again, it is prob-
able that the great value of the Marl is to be
found in the fact that it contains nearly all
the substances necessary to make up the ash
of our common cultivated plants.
