IN my garden, towering above the common

height, and over an inch_ in diameter; it:

make it a shpwy and imposing object. Who.
upon sui-keying the plant in all it: magnifi-
cence, would suppose that this Spring is was
a little seed ch smaller than a pin’: head?
Yet su¢_:h_ist e fact. That diminutive seed
had a living inhabitant, which, roused to ac-
tion by the warmth of the early year, took
the dirt and water that surrounded it a: na-
terisls for building up its present splendid
palace.
About the same size :: the seed inst men-
tioned is the human germ ; it: life power,
when once excited, takes the blood furnished
it by the parent, and from it make: a heart
and blood vessels, to carry nutriment to every
part, perfects the intestinal canol,bone:,mu:-
cles. brain and nervous system, until in the
adult all these have attained their just di-
mensions, and are in complete working order.
The human body, when it has attained to
the some state of maturity as the Prince’:
Feather, when flowering, contains within it-

not for this secret principle, called the col-

It is on this conservative principle that the on-
tire practice of medicine is founded. "

They know the right and they approve it, too,
They know the wrong, and yet the wrong pal-sac,
And this state or things will undoubtedly
continue, and take many to their untimely
graves, until they adopt the safe, entire and
unfailing preventive against contagion: dil-
eases.
