under and pursuant to the statute law of this
State, entitled “ An Act for the relief of In-
solvent Debtors aiid the more equal distribu-

Upon the application of said Alvah Mead,
showing to this Court that he had fully com-
plied with all the provisions and requirements
of said act incumbent on him to do and per-
form in order to be entitled to have the oath
or affirmation provided in the 9th section of
said act. administered to him, that he may be
entitled to the benefits and privileges provided
in the 10th section of said Act, and that he
has not in any way or manner done or per-
formed any act or thing contrary to the pro-
visions of said Act, or which should hinder or
prevent him from being entitled to the afore-
said benefits and privileges, and praying this
Court to appoint a time and place where a
hearing or enquiry shall be had before said
Court as to the truth of the allegations afore-
said. and the oath or afliruiation provided in
the 9th section of said Act, he by him made
and submitted. .
Therefore this Court doth order that Mon-
day, the 2lst day of April, 1856, at 9 o’clock,
forenoon, at the Probate Ofiice in Greenwich,
in said District, be appointed for the hearing
and enquiry aforesaid and the administering
the oath or affirmation aforesaid, pursuant to
the act aforesaid, and directs that notice be
given by advertising in two weekly newspa-
pers printed in Fairfield County, and by post-
ing a notice thereof on the sign post in said
Greenwich nearest the place where said debtor
