On Heifers, two years old, we award

The Committee on‘ Fruit report that
the‘ varieties of Apples exhibited in lots
_521 and 673 were very fine, and both so
excellent as to cause some licsitancy as
to which should be awarded the first
premium. After a careful examination,
however, they award to No.52l the first
and to No. 673 the second premium.

. But one bushel fine winter Apples
was exhibited (Baldwin). No. 600. The

'2d premium was awarded to a bushel of
_ fair Greenings in the absence of better

fruit. .

In Pears the varieties were numerous
andlof excellent quality, showing great
improvement and attention to this branch
of_ horticulture, and each of the Exhibi-

. tors dserves just credit for the perfection
and variety of their fruit.

Y air Act of Congress, passed at the last
session, all Soldiers and Marines who
served .14 days in any War since 1790-and all
seamen and flotilla men who have served on
board of airy ai‘nicd boat or‘ vessel of the Uni-
tcd States, in any War since 1790. are eiititled
to 1160 acres of Bounty Laird. When the sol-
dier‘ is dead, his widow will receive the land.
If no widow survive, then the niiiroi‘ cliiltlreii
receive it. All soldiers who served 14' days
in the Revolution are entitled, and if dead,
their the widow will receive it-.

The subscriber‘ has peculiar facilities for
